Notes

3/13/2023 - Brew Day - Decided to try adjusting my PH with some lactic acid on this batch. I haven't tested the cheap PH meter I bought yet, so I just found a similar recipe online using RO water and straight Pilsner malt and used the 3ml of Lactic Acid several posts mentioned adding, along with 1 tsp Calcium Chloride to the mash. I did not make any mineral or acid additions to the sparge water. Mashed for around 60 minutes at 150 degrees and sparged as normal.

3/?/2023 - Transferred to secondary at some point to clear a bit. FG = 1.008

3/29/2023 - Kegged - Subtle hop flavor with a very clean malt backbone. This one tastes very good, so we'll see how it is when I get around to putting it on tap.

5/17/2023 - Carbonated & added gelatin to clear - Tried new process for gelatin. Bloomed 2 tsp gelatin in 1/2 cup warm water for 20 minutes before heating to 170 degrees in the microwave using small bursts. Dumped into keg, vented headspace with 30 psi, and shook to combine. Hopefully this will clear out the beer a little faster than normal with double the amount of gelatin and trying the blooming process rather than just dumping and whisking it into boiling water.
